Hey everyone! I’m back with another coffee-shop character date! You can see my first date here.

Today I am imagining that I am having coffee with the delightful Luna Lovegood and this is how I think it might go…

Firstly. I’d want to know where she got that hat! Continue reading

#FridayFaves

Just like that we’re at week 2!

Every Friday I will be doing a themed #FridayFaves post where I will tell you my favourites for a particular prompt. Joined by fellow hosts Lauren (@Laureads_) and Jenni (@oddsocks.blog), we will unpick our opinions on set topics so don’t forget to check them both out by visiting their blogs!

This week’s prompt: Favourite Harry Potter Character

As you can imagine this is an incredibly tough choice for me. I have so many characters in the 7 books (8 films) that I adore and want to wax lyrical about. J K. Rowling builds characters better than Lego builds bricks and I find it impossible to name just one. As a result, I am going to approach this in a dramatic fashion… Hogwarts is burning, I can only save TWO…who will it be? Continue reading

Every Friday I will be doing a themed #FridayFaves post where I will tell you my favourites for a particular prompt. I am joined by fellow hosts Lauren (@Laureads_) and Jenni (@oddsocks.blog) so don’t forget to check them both out by clicking their names and visiting their blogs!

This week’s prompt: Favourite Retellings

It’s probably worth stating that I am not really a fan of retellings, mostly because I often find that you just can’t beat the magic and experience of the original. However, there are two retellings that I have enjoyed! Continue reading

January 2019 TBR

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and have seen the New Year in safely, with those you love.

Today is January 1st – and it is the first day of the first ever #bookstamums photo challenge!

The lovely Jenni (Oddsocks.blog) and I started the #bookstamums tag on Instagram several months ago now as we wanted to create a place where other book-loving Mothers could find each other … and so the tag was born! There are over 3.5k posts now and lots of friendships made. Continue reading

Books I loved as a Child

I have always been a bookworm.

One of my earliest memories is looking at the books stored neatly under my bed, with my fairytale storybook and accompanying cassette collection calling to me with its beauty and magic. I must have been young then; my dad still lived at home with us and I had the back bedroom of the house, not the front where I later shared with my sister.

Other fond memories from childhood also involve books… Continue reading

Hey everyone!

The #bookstagram community is constantly inspiring me and today I was hit with an idea. I love the fun ‘Questions of the day’ we all post and the conversations we engage in about our bookish interests and fandoms… if you haven’t joined in, then you can start here and say hi!

I recently asked the question: Which 3 people would you like to have coffee with? It got me thinking about characters I love from the books I have read, and the two books I am reading now.

Having coffee with a character would be cool – you could ask them questions and find out a lot more about them and their story. Continue reading

What’s on your Christmas list?

It’s that time of year again!

What is on yourΒ Christmas wish list?

I recently posted my Bookish Christmas Gift Guide and it went down a treat! It offered book lovers the chance to find some festive favourites that they could pop on their list to Santa this year, and I know many of you did (check it out if you didn’t see it).

After much consulting with my very own Santa (the hubby) I have been giving some thought to what is on MY Christmas list, and so I decided to share it here. Continue reading

My 2019 Top 5 Books TBR

2019 is fast approaching and there are so many books that I really hope to get checked off my #tbr list.

I have read more books this year than I have since I was a student at University. Now I’m a full time Teacher, wife and mother to a 4 year old boy it seems so impossible to find the time to read as often as I would like. I always chuckle when I think back to when IΒ  didn’t have the same commitments and thought I was ‘tired’ or ‘busy’… I had NO IDEA! Lol.Β Β But we live and learn don’t we? *The mothers reading this will be nodding*.

Without further ado, here is my 2019 Top 5 books that I hope to read…Β  Continue reading

Bookish Christmas Gift Guide

Christmas is such a wonderful time of year; a time to relish in the giving of gifts to those we love and care about. Society often thinks of gifts as being lavish and expensive, but they really don’t need to be! A gift should simply show someone that you’re thinking of them and that you know them a little and have listened to them πŸ’–.

As a huge supporter of the smaller more independent businesses on Instagram I decided to compile some of my favourites in this bookish Christmas Gift Guide. I have been scouring the ‘Gram to find some excellent bookish Christmas gifts for those book lovers in your life. And – if that book lover is YOU well you can simply share this post with Santa to give him some ideas (to suit all budgets!).

I have purposefully looked for smaller or more independent businesses doing bookish items – if splurging the cash and appeasing the mass markets is your thing then you won’t find that here!!

So, here’s my bookish Christmas Gift Guide …

7 Things I Love about Harry Potter!

For almost 20 years now I have been obsessed with J.K.Rowling’s Wizarding World. It seems that the more obsessed I get, the more I find to love and adore about this fizzing, whizzing and popping magical universe.

As a young adult, it was the adventure that I loved. Harry’s narrative really struck me and I felt a keen sense of righteousness that all young adults feel when growing up. But, as I got older I just found more and more things to love about Harry Potter’s world.

It seems only fitting that today, on Harry Potter’s and J.K.Rowling’s birthday, I should share 7 things I love about Harry Potter and the wizarding world!

1. Hogwarts – When Harry first arrives at Hogwarts, J.K.Rowling writes, Continue reading
